Amnesty Time for Logan County and Paris Misdemeanor Warrants

03/25/2024

WHEN: March 25th thru March 28th (we are closed on Friday, March 29th, for a county holiday) and April 1st thru April 5th, 2024, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (business hours both weeks).

WHERE: Sheriff's Office and Detention Center in Paris (if a Logan County misdemeanor warrant) or Paris Police Department (if a Paris misdemeanor warrant).

WHO: People with the type of misdemeanor warrants listed below who turn themselves in to the Sheriff's Office or Paris Police Department. You can call the District Court Clerk's Office at (479) 963-3792; LeAnna or Angie at the Sheriff's Office in Paris at (479) 963-3271, ext. 3; or Linda at the Paris Police Department at (479) 963-2600.
What is Amnesty Time? It is the opportunity to have your warrant served and a new court date set without spending time in jail and/or paying money when the warrant is served. This includes only the following offenses:

1. Failure to pay court-ordered fines or a delinquent payment plan.
2. Failure to answer a traffic summons or ticket.
3. Failure to appear in court on a qualifying offense and you need a new court date.

This is a chance to clear up outstanding matters that may be on a person's misdemeanor record.

Anyone with an old misdemeanor warrant including an order for arrest related to an outstanding misdemeanor or traffic citation issued in Logan County or Paris can have their case reset for a hearing. Felony charges are NOT eligible.

Amnesty Time includes ONLY the misdemeanor warrants issued out of Logan County District Court and Paris District Court. This DOES NOT include misdemeanor warrants issued out of the city of Booneville (they also had an Amnesty Time recently). This also does not include warrants issued for offenses like domestic battering, harassment, drug offenses, etc. For these warrants, they must be served and processed. Again, Amnesty Time is only for failure to pay fines, failure appear, etc.
