The current Logan County Sheriff's Office and Detention Center was built in 2019 after our Logan County citizens overwhelmingly approved a tax to build the new facility and a separate tax to operate and maintain it.  It replaced a much smaller 33-bed facility built in 1989 on Grober Street in Paris.  The Detention Center has 100 beds including 6 beds in the Booking area and 67 male beds and 27 female beds in the pod section of the facility.

Most persons who are arrested and taken into custody in Logan County are transported to the Logan County Detention Center for booking and incarceration (Booneville has a small city jail where their misdemeanor arrestees are taken). The Detention Center is divided into separate housing areas for low/medium security risk males, high security risk males, and female detainees, as well as isolation and temporary holding cells. The Detention Center houses both pre-trial detainees and post-conviction inmates who are serving sentences or awaiting transport to the Arkansas Department of Corrections or Federal Bureau of Prisons.

Detention staff includes the Lieutenant/Jail Administrator, 4 Shift Sergeants, 14 detention officers, 2 transport officers, 2 cooks/detention officers, and 1 maintenance/detention officer.  All detention officers complete a 56-hour state-mandated Jailer Course that includes the subjects of Jail Standards, ethics, constitutional law, CPR, defensive tactics, and TASER and OC spray certifications, among others.
