Drug Arrest in New Blaine

On April 27, 2023, deputies from the Logan County Sheriff's Office and an agent with the 15th Judicial District Drug Task Force went to a residence on River Mountain Road near New Blaine to speak with a person who has a suspended imposition of sentence with a valid search waiver about a theft investigation. The person and his girlfriend, Kelly Roberds, 39, were present.  During a search of the camper, they found six plastic bags of a crystal substance suspected to be methamphetamine, a plastic bag containing a dark substance suspected of being Hash, four glass smoking devices, two cut straws, a set of digital scales, numerous empty plastic bags, a memo notebook/ledger, and a plastic bag with three capsule pills. A muzzle loader rifle was found in the camper as well.  The approximate weight of the six plastic bags of crystal substance was 6.1 grams.  The crystal substance was field-tested and showed a positive presumptive reaction as methamphetamine. The evidence was seized and will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for confirmation.  Ms. Roberds was placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Detention Center.  Upon a further search of Kelly at the detention center, a small amount of a crystal substance was located on her.  She was booked in on the anticipated charges of Possession of Methamphetamines with Purpose to Deliver, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with Purpose to Manufacture, Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, Maintaining a Drug Premises, and Introducing Prohibited Articles into a Secure Facility.
