A Couple of Recent Drug Arrests

04/27/2023

On April 20, 2023, Logan County Sheriff's Office Investigator Howard Bates and several Booneville Police officers went to an apartment on West 6th Street near the Booneville Elementary School after Investigator Bates received information that illegal drugs were at the residence.  A parolee with a search waiver was living at the residence along with other people so the officers conducted a compliance search of the residence.  Tamara Richmond, 56, was present and she lived at the residence.  Officers found four plastic baggies containing a crystal substance that appeared to be methamphetamine, a set of digital scales with black electrical tape, two smoking pipes, plastic packing bags, and five Suboxone strips.  The crystal substance was field-tested and showed a presumptive positive reaction as methamphetamine.  The approximate weight of the crystal substances is 12 grams.  This will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory.  It is anticipated that Tamara will be charged with Possession of Methamphetamine with the Purpose to Deliver; Maintaining a Drug Premises; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with Purpose to Manufacture; and Proximity to Certain Facilities (near a school).

On April 21, 2023, the Logan County Sheriff's Office, with the assistance of Probation and Parole officers, went to the Turkey Ridge Trailer Park north of Magazine to conduct an in-home compliance check. Amanda Wilkins, 41, resides at the residence and is on active supervision with a search waiver on file. Nathan West, 38, also resides at the residence and is on active suspended imposition of sentence with a search waiver on file.  They saw a white male fleeing to the west on foot and they located him behind several hay bales in the nearby field. The subject was identified as Roy Phelps, 57, of Magazine, who had a felony warrant for failure to appear and probation violation. In one of the residences, they located Dawn Stockman, 23, of Booneville, who had a misdemeanor warrant for drug paraphernalia out of the Paris P.D.

Inside one of the residences, they found a plastic bag with a crystal substance inside the bathroom trashcan. They also found Shailee Turney, 24, in the bathroom. They found a glass smoking pipe with residue, digital scales with residue, and a small plastic container with a crystal substance in the master bedroom where Amanda Wilkins and Nate West slept. The contraband seized was field-tested and showed a presumptive positive reaction as methamphetamine. The contraband was logged into evidence and will be forwarded to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for further testing. It is anticipated that Shailee Turney will be charged with Possession of Methamphetamines and Amanda Wilkins and Nate West will be charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with Purpose to Manufacture/Distribute, Possession of Methamphetamines with Purpose to Deliver, and Maintaining a Drug Premises.
