On April 3, 2023, Logan County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Investigator Howard Bates obtained a search warrant pursuant to a joint investigation with the Booneville Police Department for an apartment on 8th Street that is across from the Booneville Junior High School. Law enforcement officers from the Booneville Police Department and the Logan County Sheriff's Office executed the search warrant and found a false compartment located under the master bed which is the living quarters for Norman Brown, 53. They found approximately 90 pounds of suspected marijuana in this compartment. They also found numerous packing bags along with two sets of digital scales. They seized the contraband and released it to an agent with the 15th Judicial Drug Task Force. A minor was present in the residence and DHS was notified.

 

Nathan Brown was arrested and transported to the Logan County Detention Center. His anticipated charges are Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance with the Purpose to Deliver; Distribution of Controlled Substances in Proximity to a School (Enhancement); Endangering Welfare of a Minor in the First Degree; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; and Maintaining a Drug Premise within 1000 feet of a School.
