Brett Lee Arrested for Thefts and a Large Amount of Property Recovered

05/10/2022

On May 9, 2022, Brett Lee, 33, of Subiaco, was arrested on suspicion of being involved in the thefts of two Polaris side-by-side UTVs that we recovered, one Honda Talon side-by-side UTV that has not been recovered, two jet skis and a trailer stolen out of Fort Smith last year that we recovered, a 2003 Chevrolet Suburban stolen out of Mena that we recovered, a break-in at the Dollar General in Caulksville where propane bottles were stolen and we recovered some of them, and numerous other thefts of tools, motor fuel, and other items some which have been recovered.  He was involved in thefts where the property value is around $100,000 due to the side-by-sides and vehicles that were stolen.

Brett was arrested by a team of Arkansas State troopers, Probation & Parole agents, and deputies from the Logan County Sheriff's Office at his home in Subiaco.  Brett's truck was recovered near Paris on North Fifth Street by Deputy Charlie Edmonson and Sheriff Jason Massey after Narcotics Investigator Howard Bates received information that the truck was parked there.  We found the two stolen jet skis and trailer attached to Brett's truck.  Suspected stolen tools were in the truck as well.  The 2003 Chevrolet Suburban was recovered last week after Logan County investigators went to look for Brett and several others by the Arkansas River levy in the Paris Bottoms and Brett fled in the Suburban.  He got stuck in a field and fled on foot.  He was not found then.  The two stolen Polaris side-by-side UTVs were found a month ago out in the National Forest off Mt. Carmel and St. Louis Valley Roads due to information received by our narcotics investigator.

Brett is being held on a $75,000.00 cash only bond and his anticipated charges are theft of property, theft by receiving, and breaking and entering but we expect many more charges as our investigators sort through the cases and meet with the Prosecuting Attorney's Office.  Brett is on parole and now has a parole hold placed on him.

The investigation continues as we look for more suspects who are involved.
