Ceremonial Swearing-In for the Magazine Deputies

04/01/2022

Brett Chappell and Jim Elkins are sworn in by Judge Gack

Earlier this week, we had the ceremonial swearing-in at Magazine City Hall of the deputies assigned to the Magazine Police Department. Congratulations to Brett Chappell who was selected by Magazine Mayor Stanley McConnell, the City Council, and the Sheriff's Office to serve as the Magazine Sergeant/Police Chief!! Sgt. Chappell previously worked for five years as a Patrol Deputy with the Sheriff's Office and then two years with the Booneville Police Department where he rose to the rank of sergeant. Sgt. Chappell is from Magazine and his daughter attends school there. We are excited about this opportunity and we know that Sgt. Chappell will do a great job in his new position. Jim Elkins was also sworn-in. He has been a part-time Magazine Police Officer for six years and he will continue in his role serving in Magazine. He is a hard worker and is dedicated to serving Magazine.
